A
Murder Mystery Makes £300 for Guide Dogs
A
Victorian Murder Mystery charity dinner organized by Braille
Transcription UK Limited helped raise an astonishing £300.00
for the Guide Dogs Association on Friday 12 November.
A
guest list of some 38 amateur sleuth enthusiasts - under
the watchful eye of their Dangerous Liaison Compere - gathered
in the lavishly furnished Wadescote suite of the Haydon
House Hotel, Basford, to help solve what turned out to be
a very difficult and not-to-say, tricky murder.
Managing
Director, Philip Anderson of Braille Transcription UK limited,
commented: “The entire guests were an incredibly generous
and sporting crowd which made for a most pleasurable and
financially rewarding evening.”
The
raffle prizes, which were donated by the benevolent generosity
of local firms Wedgwood, The Evening Sentinel, Computer
Solutions, Mitten Clarke, Port Meirion, Bradwell Chemist,
Haydon House and Royal Doulton, helped raise a staggering
£200.00, with the remaining £100.00 from contributions
made by the warm-hearted guests. For a Complete list of
sponsors, please visit the Guide Dog section on the Braille
Transcription UK website: www.brailletranscriptionuk.co.uk
Judi
Anderson, company secretary at Braille Transcription UK
adds: “We wish to thank representatives from Dangerous
Liaisons whose enthusiasm elicited the dramatic involvement
of all the guests. Furthermore, a special thank you to the
staff at Haydon House for creating such a splendidly Victorian-themed
menu, which proved immensely appetizing, and which was thoroughly
enjoyed by all. Finally, we would like to offer a huge vote
of thanks to our guests - without whom the evening would
not have been possible. Together, they helped raise a remarkable
£300.00. Well done!!”
Moneys
raised on the evening have now been added to Braille Transcription
UK’s overall target of £5,000 which will be
used to train a guide dog puppy and which will hopefully
go on to give a deserving blind or partially sighted person
freedom, independence and dignity.
Since
July 2004, Braille Transcription UK has raised a total of
£1,000.00 for the Guide Dog Association through the
recycling of old mobile phones, used posted stamps and printer
ink cartridges. This recycling programme is an ongoing project
between Braille Transcription UK and Guide Dogs. Anybody
may contribute to it by simply sending Braille Transcription
UK his or her unwanted phones, stamps and printer cartridges.
In
conclusion, Braille Transcription UK once again wish to
thank its generous sponsors and kind guests for all their
support on the night, and promise an equally action-packed
schedule of events in the new year. |
